Bio

Anna is a Georgian born actress. Her engagement in theatre and performance arts started from a very young age. While Anna, was growing up her parents noticed her interest in art and music and they started taking her to the theater and acting studios. As a child, she experienced a civil war in her country. Her family had to go through hard social times but never ceased to support her journey. When she graduated from school, her only dream was to become an artist.
During her college years, Ms. Cherkezishvili actively started her professional career, she participated in short films and performance pieces across Europe and Asia. One of the films she had a lead role for, The Bus Stop, garnered 3rd place in the competition Award of the Best Film & Award of the Audience in Hungary, at the Mediawave International Film and Music Festival in 2008. Another film she co-directed and portrayed a lead character for “They are coming,” garnered an award for the “Best Film,” in Italy, at the CinemadaMare festival in 2010.
In 2013-2014, her career took international turn as she joined the New York theater company Dramatic Adventure. She traveled in Slovakia with the company to create the play, “Ako David.” Following this, she traveled in Ecuador and acted in a play “La Maldicion de la Tunda.”  In 2014, Ms. Cherkezishvili was invited to perform the role of Storyteller for the production of the Identity Theatre Company, “The True Colors of Weedle”, a musical with book and lyrics by June Rachelson-Ospa and music by Grammy Nominated composer, Allison Brewster- Franzetti. In 2015 Ms. Cherkezishvili returned to collaborate with Dramatic Adventure Theatre and performed the lead role of  Lilia in the production “Homecoming”. The production was  premiered, at New World Stages, a renowned theatrical complex in New York that has served numerous Tony-Award winning and Pulitzer-Prize-earning shows. The show successfully ran for a few weeks and had sold out house.
In 2015 - 2018 Anna had an opportunity to train and collaborate with Master teacher of the Stella Adler technique Ron Burrus and Grammy Award Winning singer/songwriter Janis Ian as well as Emmy Winning actor Anthony Zerbe at the World Renowned Stella Adler Studio of Acting. In 2018, Anna graduated from the Stella Adler Studio and joined the legendary Heights Players to perform the role of Narrator in the production “A Christmas Carol”. Shortly after this play, Ms. Cherkezishvili portrayed "Lucid Dreamer" for the innovative and immersive theatrical production "Lucid Dream Theatre Experience" produced by Transforma Theatre.
In 2020, Anna Cherkezishvili portrayed the lead role of  "Monica" in the play "No Friends". This production was part of the international theatre festival of  New York "Fun Fast Feb Fest" produced by TeamTheatre, involving 12 works in competition for a grand prize. The play garnered TeamTheatre a nomination on BroadwayWorld.
When not performing in other’s projects Anna is busy creating her own work. Anna was recently invited to join the Rattelstick Playwrights Theatre as a resident actress,  for their annual international festival Global Forms 2023.
